Benita Kline is Senior Advisor at Third Plateau Social Impact Strategies. As co-founder and Vice President of Leventhal/Kline Management Inc. for more than 20 years, she directed grantmaking, strategic planning, board development, governance, evaluation, program development and community relations for multiple client foundations and  individual donors.

Prior to forming LKM, Benita served as Director of Planning and Organizational Services for the Jewish Federation of the Greater East Bay and was the Development Director of the United Jewish Community Centers of San Francisco, Marin and the Peninsula. She currently serves as Treasurer and Director of Art & Remembrance, a nonprofit that uses art and personal narrative to elevate the individual courage and resilience of those who experience persecution and injustice. She is a co-founder of Bay Area Democracy Funders and a member of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers, Environmental Grantmakers Association, and the Funders Committee for Civic Participation.

Benita is a frequent speaker and workshop presenter on topics such as High Impact Family Philanthropy, Becoming an Effective Grantmaker, and Finding Focus in Philanthropy. She has served as President of the Jewish Community Center of the East Bay, on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Community Federation of the East Bay, and the Alameda County FEMA Board. She is a recipient of the “Menches in the Trenches” Award of the American Jewish Congress for outstanding community service. Benita holds an MS in Organizational Psychology from San Francisco State University.
