Erica Kashiri serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Third Plateau. In this role she oversees the processes that allow the team to deliver exceptional work to our partners implementing bold ideas to change the world.  Erica brings to this role a penchant for issue spotting, implementing solutions, and providing opportunities for continuous improvement.

Previously, Erica was the director of workforce development for the Office of Mayor Darrell Steinberg. In this position, she was tasked with ensuring that city residents have real opportunities for economic advancement and that local businesses have the talent they need to compete in the global economy.

Prior to that role, Erica spent nearly a decade in Washington, DC. creating strategic opportunities for corporate executives to build workforce pipelines. At both the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the Business-Higher Education Forum she played an integral role creating stronger, more intentional relationships between businesses and education/training providers. It is during this time that she became an expert in strategic planning, programmatic implementation, and leveraging cross-sector partnerships that move the needle on regional goals.

Originally from Georgia, Erica received a bachelor’s degree in public policy and law from the University of Virginia, a master’s in public policy from the University of California-Berkeley, and an MBA from the George Washington University School of Business.

Erica currently lives in Sacramento, CA and spends her time exploring the world on a one-wheel, eating French fries, and casually attempting to keep her plants alive.
