Hannah LevinsonSocial Impact Fellow
Improv game initiator. Fearless wearer of red lipstick. User of more superlatives than anyone else in the world. Frequent conversationalist with strangers. Story-lover.
As an MBA student at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley, Hannah is focusing on people development and organizational design. She is passionate about designing innovative ways for people to learn and grow as a means to drive organizational change. As Co-President of the Haas Improv Club, Hannah has leveraged improv to build connection among students and foster a culture that encourages collaboration and stronger communication. As Vice President of External Affairs for Net Impact, Hannah leads efforts to recruit students interested in pursuing careers in the social sector.
Upon receiving her BA in Psychology from Dartmouth College, Hannah moved across the country and began her career as an AmeriCorps VISTA, grant-writing and implementing Salesforce for MatchBridge, a youth employment program of United Way of the Bay Area. While at MatchBridge, she also discovered filmmaking as a powerful storytelling tool and way to influence potential funders and taught herself the skills necessary to film, produce, and edit short videos. She spent the next several months creating videos for nonprofits and start-ups. In collaboration with the SF Korean-English immersion program, she helped a school raise enough money to fund two full-time teachers. Realizing she was excited about promoting causes she cared about and spending time in the community (rather than editing video), she pursued a career in fundraising. Hannah spent the three years prior to her MBA working at Project Open Hand, a San Francisco nonprofit providing nutritious meals with love to seniors and the critically ill. As a Development Officer, she cultivated relationships with major donors, developed partnerships, and built out their monthly giving program. Hannah brings her fundraising experience and strength developing relationships to the Third Plateau team this summer.
Though a New Yorker at heart, Hannah has fallen in love with the Bay. On any given weekend, you’ll probably find her at an improv show, The Moth, Mortified, or another quirky show. A lover of good stories, Hannah conquered her fear (or maybe lived her dream?) last year and performed at The Moth in SF!
