Harald Leventhal is Senior Advisor at Third Plateau Social Impact Strategies. As co-founder and President of Leventhal/Kline Management for over 20 years, he directed all aspects of clients’ financial and administrative management including budgeting, financial management, operations, investment monitoring, compliance and financial reporting.

Hal has extensive experience in both the nonprofit and private sector as C.F.O, entrepreneur and consultant in technology, banking and travel. Prior to co-founding LKM in 1998, he was the Chief Financial Officer of the Jewish Community Federation of San Francisco, Marin, the Peninsula and Sonoma where his responsibilities included working with beneficiary agencies on strategic and financial issues and oversight of the investment portfolio. He has served as C.F.O. of the United Jewish Community Centers of San Francisco, Marin and the Peninsula; C.F.O. of an incentive travel company serving the high technology industry; Consultant to the Presidents of Bank of America and BA Cheque Corporation, and co-founder and C.F.O. of a computer software and peripheral reseller and exporter.

Hal has been a speaker for the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Foundation Center on Ethical Issues in Fiscal Governance,” and Nonprofit Financial Oversight and Governance. He serves as the Chair of the Audit Committee of the Jewish Community Center of the East Bay. He earned an M.B.A. in Finance and a B.S. in Finance and B.A. in Rhetoric from the University of California at Berkeley.
