Madhavi Rathod

Senior Accountant

Culinary alchemist. Daydream believer. Truth seeker. Holistically conscious connoisseur. Star gazer.

Madhavi Rathod is a Senior Accountant at Third Plateau, where she works with both foundation management clients, as well as on the company’s internal accounting.

She has extensive experience in both the non-profit sector and the financial services industry. She began her career working with clients in leading insurance and mutual fund companies. She then worked as an investment analyst for Smith Barney’s top managed money branch. There, she assisted private clients and foundations with making informed portfolio allocation decisions.

Answering an inner call to more deeply engage in philanthropic activity, Madhavi returned home to India to support two non-profits. She served as a seminar director for Muktabodha International, which is dedicated to preserving the philosophical and scriptural texts of classical India and the wisdom they contain. Subsequently, she was appointed as the head of Prasad Chikitsa, an NGO which provides humanitarian and medical relief services to rural communities. During her tenure there, Madhavi became involved in tsunami relief work and facilitated the relief efforts for 26 villages in Southern India, enabling the villagers to return to their livelihoods.

Most recently, she served as Finance Director for Stepping Stones Project, a non-profit in the Bay Area which provides rights of passage programs to middle school youth. She also worked as the Finance and Operations Manager for Confluence Philanthropy. There, she supported their annual membership conference, maintained their grant records, and tracked revenues and expenses via multiple platforms.

Madhavi has a M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing, along with a B.S. in Marketing, with a minor in English. She resides in the East Bay. In her free time, Madhavi enjoys exploring the glorious nature spots which California has to offer.
