Jessica Argenas

Director of Operations

Jessica Argenas (she/her) is a Director of Operations at Third Plateau.  In her role, she is charged to lead internal personnel operations and special projects. She brings to this role a strong passion for iterating and improving on operating systems with the goal of helping team members work more efficiently and effectively to maximize impact.

Jessica started her career serving as a Teach For America corps member in Connecticut. She taught high school mathematics at an information technology magnet school for several years. During that time, she worked with hundreds of students to develop fundamental mathematics literacy and worked with teachers and administrators to develop a school-wide tracking system to measure student growth.

With a desire to use her strengths and passions in operations and systems to further educational equity, Jessica joined the Teach For America Connecticut team as a Manager of Program Operations and later became the Director of Data, Finance, and Compliance. During her time as a Director, Jessica worked with the team to overhaul regional operating systems and improve regional compliance, diversify and localize regional spending, and scaled projects measuring student social emotional learning to the national level. Throughout her leadership on the team, Jessica honed her expertise in user-centered systems design, developing operating processes tied to strategic team outcomes, and leading change management with staff.

Jessica earned her B.S. in mathematics and a minor in economics at the University of Maryland.  She is also a Certified Scrum Master and trained in Liberatory Design.

Jessica lives in coastal Connecticut with her fiancé and cat. In her free time, you can find her baking breads and other sweet treats, on a hike or stroll in the woods or along the ocean, or cozying up with her cat and a warm cup of tea.
